I’ve also been an IT technician for a decade, starting as a student worker when I was getting my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance, then while getting my Masters in Theatre Production. At Montclair, I worked in advanced phone support and spent a lot of my time training.
My next adventure was in Walt Disney World, in Entertainment and in Disney’s version of HR. I came back to New Jersey and worked for UBS in their HR department. At all my jobs, I find myself as the unofficial office IT liaison because I have the ability to translate tech speak into non-tech speak.
Returning to academia, I went to work for Bergen Community College as a help desk technician, then moved to Rutgers as an instructional support specialist and Sakai support help desk manager, a mix of my IT help desk experience and my instructional design experience.
As of August 2016, I am the instructional designer and educational technologist for the Rutgers School of Health Professions.
